I have just moved into a newley built house and was wondering
their are three dormers and they have all the extra support around them
my question is can I get rid of the wood that runs infront of the windows
the attic is not finished but I would like to get storage out of the area and getting to the window is alittle difficult with the wood in front of it
the beam does go to the top of the roof and down to the eve but the dormer is intersecting this with support
can I remove them or not

fc3,
you would have to provide us a sketch as I cannot picture what you are calling extra support. It is rare today that people would over build. It was probably a required element in the structure if it is a new home.
Give us a link to look at so we can help.
thanks
