Hello everyone, I'm buying a new sofa and since it will be coming from a manufacturer in Italy, I have many upholstery choices. I'm debating the fabric vs. leather issue. I love the the clean contemporary look of white leather as well as leather's advantage when it comes to spills and stains, however the fabric is much cheaper and warmer to the touch. What's your take on this? Any suggestions and comments are appreciated

both leather & fabric have advantages & disadvantages, so it's really just a matter of personal preference. so.......my personal opinion: if money is a concern and if the leather will be white, i'd go with fabric. i think white leather is a waste of leather. it's like painting over cherry wood or something. it might as well be vinyl. so, in your case, if you're wanting white, i'd go with a white slipcovered sofa. it's cheaper than leather, warmer, and you can easily throw the slipcovers in the wash & bleach them out. and when you're ready for a change, you can just change the slipcovers for a new look.
