I'm looking for a good tip on cleaning horizontal vinyl or plastic blinds. In the past, I've always just tossed them if they get real dirty, since they only cost $10. If there's an easy way to clean them, maybe I could save some money. I thought about filling the tub with a bleach/water solution, soaking for 10 minutes, then rinsing them off. With this method, I was afraid that they may not rinse well and dry with a 'film', or would still need scrubbing/wiping each individual blind.
Has anybody tried this or used any other type of product?

Put towels in the bottom of the tub to prevent scratching. Blind should be open when placed in tub. Severity of soiling will determine how much scrubbing will be done. An all-purpose cleaner should be effective. Other options include placing blinds on driveway or hanging on fence or deck rail for spraying with water hose, then all purpose cleaner, scrubbing, spraying to rinse, and dripping dry.

Hi Timinindy,
I just found a marvelous way to clean vinyl blinds.
Remove the blinds and lay open flat on outside surface. Spray with vinyl siding cleaner. I purchased inexpensive brand. Spray the surface and wait a couple of minutes and spray clean with hose. Do both sides and it is just like new. Good luck!!
