Hi,
I am about to install the laminate floor. I never used saw before so I don't know whether it is better to use table saw or circular saw. Any advice would be appreciated!
Thanks

Neither. Buy a Bosch jigsaw. $139. Does most everything those saws do and more, just a little slower. Much, much safer. Typically, this is the fist power saw a homeowner buys.

I thought jigsaw is for cutting circle or sth like that. Also does it require a base table?

A jigsaw will cut long straight lines just as well as circles. It can make plunge cuts, end cuts, cut metal, etc, it will do everything you need for a laminate install, but is much safer and easier to use for a new saw user. It will be slower in some apps, but it is more versatile than any other saw.
Base table? Its nice if you can lay your piece in a surface to hold it steady, but even thats not necessary. I usually use my knee or the saw box.

I don't know how long you plan to take to install the flooring. If it is going to be a couple weekend project, I would buy a saw. If it's a one day thing, I would rent one. The saw I would rent would be a miter saw. You want your flooring to have nice straight even cuts. I don't know of many people that can cut 3 or 4 inches "perfectly" straight with a jig saw. Good luck with your project.

Go to a pawn shop and purchased a good used table saw.
Don't pay what they list or first tell you. Talk them down to theire bottom dollar!

I agree with Carpets Done Wright and Majakdragon, I use both a miter and a table saw and VERY rarely need anything else. If need be just a table saw or miter will get me by most of the time....I just like having both around and probably use them the same amount.
A jigsaw is also a a great saw to own as marco1 said. I personaly prefer the other saws I mentioned........that doesn't mean that my way is the best of course.

But where do you need a perfectly straight cut for laminate? Everything is covered with trim.
And with what will he cut around doorjambs?
I agree its nice to have all the saws. But if only one...
