Need to replace tub surround in small bathroom. House is 1950's prefab. Walls in bathroom are 1/4 inch plywood paneling, covered with panel board. Replaced tub 15 years ago, cast iron. Tub surround is 3 piece tile look. Would like to replace tub. I like the tub, but it has a sandblasted non skid coating on bottom that always looks dirty no matter how its cleaned, gray looking. It is a Koehler tub. Does anyone make a tub shower unit that interlocks that can be used in remodel, not new construction? I would like something that does not have any caulking needed? Is this only possible for new construction? Would like acrylic. Also, wall behind surround now is plywood with some signs of moisture problems. I don't think we can install greenboard because tub won't fit. Won't really know what we're dealing with until surround is removed. House is on slab. Access to plumbing is in closet. Plan on doing work ourselves. Thanks for any suggestions.
