Hello I've got a dilemma

Had a bit of a party while the folks are away and now theres a stain of cheese on the kitchen worktop.

It's llike someone has grabbed a block of cheese and just rubbed it into the worktop, tried scrubbing but it's not having any of it

Any ideas would be much apreciated

I would suggest a citris degreaser. I would go to your local home improvement and get a GOOD cleaner. I wouldnt go for any water down version. Apply to the area let sit 10-15 mins then rinse with the hottest water available. What material is the counter top?

If countertop is wood, oil from the cheese was likely absorbed by the wood. If oil has penetrated deep into wood, it is not likely that sanding will remove the stain. One option is to rub the affected area with cornstarch and let it set to see if it lifts the oil stain. Wooden countertops and cutting boards that have no surface finish should be kept sealed with white mineral oil from the pharmacy.
