Hey all,
I'm very new to building stuff on my own, and I wanted to try my hand at building a heardboard for our very small bedroom. I want to upholster a piece of plywood and mount it as close to flush to the wall as possible. I was thinking of using a french cleat. My questions are:
(a) can I use plywood for the cleat material or should I get something else?
(b) is there a better way to hang it?
Thanks folks,
cvb

French cleats are the way to go, but make sure you make the headboard 1-1/2" thick so you can make the cleat on the second piece of 3/4" and that way it will sit flat against the wall. There are other ways, but it would end up sitting off the wall about 1/4".
