Not sure if this is the correct forum for this question. I plan on building a interior window (view thru?) from my kitchen into my dining room. Size will be approximately 50in. X 30 in. The wall I am going thru however is a load bearing wall. Do I have to do extensive bracing for this project or is it small enough that no extra support needs to be added. hope this is clear.
Thanks

Since it is a loadbearing wall, you will have to have a header over the opening. This is the same thing as any other door or window opening. Interior or exterior makes no difference.

Good. But is ther some guideline as to how big the header has to be - or will a 2X4 be adequate? I am thinking of doubling up the 2X4 for the header, and then doubling up the studs on either side. Does this make sense?
Thanks for the help.

More like a double 2x10 or 2x12 header...
