I'm wondering where I can get quality (but not outrageously expensive!) drawer slides to replace the el-cheapo ones that I have now. These ones are the overheard central slide rail with just the nylon gripper at the back of the drawer and plastic wheels at the bottom edge of the opening.

I've looked into the KraftMaid rails that Lowe's has with their cabinets (and they're *really* nice), but am waiting to find out if they can be ordered separately (and how much they are).

The drawers aren't heavy-duty or hard wood, but I'd like to have something that slides a bit nicer than these cheapo rails.

Thanks much!

I go to Woodworker's Hardware at

http://www.wwhardware.com/

They have a good selection of slides, as well as other hardware, at prices much better than the big box home centers. I've been doing business with them for 5 years, and have always been pleased with their speed of delivery and customer service. You may be able to find the same brand, or similar type of slide there. Make sure the dimensions are correct before ordering.

Some cabinet makers build drawer boxes made to accomodate certain types of slides, in terms of design and/or dimensions, and in some cases, a specific brand.

They look pretty good. I think I may be able to get the stuff cheaper there (along with the hinges), than I can at Lowe's (still gotta do the math)
