This just stinks. Literally. I use cloth diapers, plus we're getting ready for a trip. Wahhhh!
I have a Whirlpool Extra Large Capacity Heavy Duty 7-Cycle Washing Machine. I have no model number or anything of that sort, because we just bought this house a few months ago and the family moved with the washer that was in here (per agreement) and left this one from the garage. And it is a nice washer...but I have no paperwork on it at all :(
The problem is, the washer fills with water and empties. And that's it...it doesn't "move"...no washing of the clothes, no spinning the water out.
Can anyone help? I would so much appreciate it.
Thanks!
peace--

maybe check this (http://www.acmehowto.com/howto/appliance/washer/check/waterlevel.php)and make sure the drain hose is above the top of the washer. Did it ever work for you? Does it drain as it fill or fills then drains via the pump pumping it out? What if you move the timer a couple of clicks manually after it fills-does it agitate I mean gyrate? Does the motor make any noise at all. Check for voltage at the motor
Gyrating = agitating

Haven't checked the site mentioned yet, but I had already checked the drain hose, as we had a loose one at previous home that I had to keep an eye on constantly. It fills then drains via the pump pumping it, so it actually holds the water in the washer tub like it wants to agitate (LOL, sorry, I'm pregnant and I just couldn't recall what the right word was, and that was the closest I could come to it! <BG>), but then just doesn't agitate, then it drains at the end of the cycle, and I hear the motor going like it is trying to spin the excess water out (I also hear the motor going when it's supposed to agitate.), but, again, it doesn't spin.
So, yes, motor noise, no, movement, yes, water. LOL Thanks for any suggestions!

try to find the model. It could be a belt or a coupler. There is something called a wig wag on the belt driven models that could be the prob. or the coupler on the direct drive.
