I am having a contractor replace my flooring in the bathroom, and if I can remove the old ceramic tile it would save a few $$. I am pretty handy, but dont want to go out and buy alot of tools. The rm is 5X6. Any help would be appreciated. jojo

You could rent a chipping hammer for about $50 that will take up the floor in under an hour. Put a 2 or 4" spade on the end of it. If you have wire and mud under the floor break it up into small liftable chunks anf get it out of the way as you go, the wire can cut you pretty easy. Go right down to the plywood subfloor. You will have to remove the toilet and vanity first.
