Does anyone know how these things work....?
I'm trying to transfer VHS to DVD..but I'm about to throw the thing out the window...anyone got any ideas on how to do this?

There our a few things left out.
You can not do copyrighted material. only home movies and some tv shows.
Also in your manual, some of the earlier models, still out on the market only use certain brand and type dvd's to record.
I recommend, only a 4x dvd-r.
Read the manual several times and when you respond to my reply. Let me know what part of the process you are having trouble with.
Make sure you have formatted your dvd and followed the steps in the manual before attempting to copy.

I say throw it out the window, thats the best answer. And use your computer to do this transfer. There are many programs that can capture video fed in through RCA cables, so you won't have to worry about satan with copy rights, not that you would copy copyrighted material. Then burn the stuff with a dvd burner that your computer uses.
