I have a shower stall that has half-inch cedar paneling on the ceiling, including the shower. I am building an enclosure for the shower and for reasons I won't go into right now, I am going to keep the cedar ceiling. Is there something I can treat the wood with to keep it from getting water-stained and to prevent rot? Thanks.

I used it and the wood is like new
