Is there a way I can put a small light of some sort outside to let me know when the alarm is set. If so, how do I wire it? I have DSC 832 5010. I would appreciate any help.

Yes, the PGM outputs on the panel can be used to turn on and off a LED, or trip a relay to control a more powerful lamp. It also takes a bit of programming, so you would have to have access to the system programming.
