Help. Must husband cleaned out the refrigerator while I was out of town. Now it smells like something electrical. Freezer too! Everything seems to be cooling fine. What could it be????? Thanks for any help. :wall:

Why ya gotta blame the hubby? If it smells electrical it may be electrical and it may have nothing to do with the cleaning. With the limited info provided I would look behind where the fan is blowing in the freezer when the compressor is on.

That fan blows cold air into the freezer and the fresh food compartment. Both compartments have electrical "stuff" in them, but if there was a problem in the FF comp the freezer would not really be affected since the air blows from the freezer to the ref. I am not saying it could not be in the FF comp but it is more likely to originate from the freezer.

If you can't really detect the smell when the fan comes on you may want to catch some air from in front of the fan with a plastic bag an sniff it outside the freezer.

Just some random thought based on nothing really
