The handle on our Maytage dishwasher (~2 1/2 years old) has suddenly lost its "springiness." The door will still close and latch into place. However, there's no tension on the handle. It just kinda flops around. When you try to open the door, you really have to pull hard to get it to open.

I did a google search for "broken maytag dishwasher handle" and found quite a few complaints of people experiencing the same thing, but no suggestions on how to fix it.

Any ideas? Thanks much.
