:alarm: hey guys hope all is well back again with a new problem, guy came put down a kitchen floor for me, here's what we have he put down 1/2 cdx plywood, then 1/2" wallboard. then porcelin tile on thin set, then grout . made his own thin set. and used polyblend grout. just 2 days ago, now i still am trying toget
that haze off thats #1, ..#2 the grout like mosts guys are having a problem with as i 've been reading here, is alot lighter then i ordered. i tried the white viniger tile came a little better but grout is very light its suppose to be liner color almost a light brown ..it looks almost beige now,, like not even close to what i picked. also was the sub floor and wallboard put down correctly. thanks guys , i did notice he used galvanized nails if that helps w/ anything. do you think the grout will get darker when it dries out fully? or will i have to seal it and color it ? thanks......sal .... tiles are 13x13" think tiles will hold up as far as cracking i hear he should have set the wall board in 1/4" thin set,
but he didn't. floor joists are about 9-10" apart.

What is under the CDX he put down?, CDX is garbage and shouldn't have been used for one, second, exactly what did he use for thinset for the Porcelain, made his own from what?, third, what wallboard, did you mean cementboard?, hope so.:)
What is the joist size, spacing and length of span unsupported?:)
Give the grout a few weeks to cure, then we'll deal with that.:)

thanks for your reply, i found a piece of the wood the guy used for the sub floor it said bcx, and for the thinset he used portlen cement thin set, the board was cement board, both 1/2". but my problem is this haze on the tiles i used that acid hd sells to, its just a hassle to get that haze off, and do you think the grout will darken soon cause now it looks white it was suppose to be linen and the bag says linen too, i can't understand why it dried so white in color, how long do i wait to recolor and seal the grout if i have too, or will it get any darker, i'm afraid it will get dirty before i seal it, then i'll have more work to do job was done this past wednesday, joist are 1x8" 10ft supported by 14ft supported by metal beam that goes across under sub floor. there about 12" apart if that helps, also there are wooded slats about 6" wide running the length of the floor over the joists
thanks again
