Hi,

I am new to the forum, and have found a lot of valuable information. I have a new DSC Power 632 with the PC5508Z LED keyboard. I am doing a Bench test of the system before I intall it. I have a NC loop on Zone 1. Zones 2-6 are jumped. When I arm the system using the default "1234 code" The ready LED stays on, the armed LED comes on, and the Bypass lights up. I have tried the codes (*1, 01-06 ) for bypassing but nothing changes. How can I get it to arm with out the bypass?

Thanks for any help.

One of the zones (zone 2, I think) is factory defaulted as a away/stay zone, which bypasses automatically unless an entry/exit zone is opened and closed during the exit delay (which is zone 1 at factory default).

Either the autobypass (an anti-false alarm feature. That zone is preconfigured for an interior device like a motion detector), or the zone configuration can be changed in programming.

Thanks, You explaned it. If I unjmper zone 2, and jumper it again the bypass light goes off. I can use that as my entry/exit. Zones 5 and 6 are instant. Thats all the zones I need. I need to figure out how to shorten the delay time for the entry exit. :)

You are not locked into the default zone settings. _Any_ zone can be programmed for specific jobs in section 001 of the program.

Entry and exit times are programmed in section 005 of the system programming.

Give the programming section of your installer manual a good read over. DSC programming is _not_ intuitive.

Thanks again for your help. I am going to read those sections again. :)
