Hi,
I recently recevied a recorded VHS tape from the US. When i ran it on my VCR (Akai VS F260) which is designed to run NTSC and PAL systems, the picture and sound is running at approx. twice the speed as normal.
Any suggestions as to where i am going wrong?
Thanks
Alan

Is that vhs a copy of something or a store bought movie ?
Something someone copied for you ?
Did you change in the set up or menu options for the different format ? Some are not automatic.
Could be a few things, but need to know if its a store bought movie or home video or so forth.
There are a few things that can cause that,
You might want to try changing the sp, slp, it sounds like that it is possible that its playing in standard play and was recorded slp

The movie is a recorded tape. From what I've been told about it (i'm working on second hand information), it could have been reconded in sp mode. Is there a way to compensate for this on my video playback?
Thanks

most default settings for a dvd player are sp, if you chnaged yours to slp, then try that. sometimes its right on the remote control for the unit and other its in the set up menu
You might want to ask a friend to play it and see if it has the same problem, could be a bad vhs tape also.
