Ok, with a family of 5, the dirty laundry piles up quickly when you have a washing machine that's broke.

Kenmore 70 series -- Heavy Duty/Super Capacity Plus
Model #110.26722693

In all four wash cycles, the unit fills with water and washes. At the end of the wash cycle, the machine stops and goes no further. When I manually move the timer mechanism to the rinse setting, the machine washes again, but then stops. The machine is does not drain or spin.

Where do I start? Thanks

Start with checking the lid switch.

Sears.com $16.77
Generally your local appliance parts stores are less money.

Cant say how to test your switch, I cant find a schematic
you may have a broken lever or something that pushes the switch.
Look to see how the lid triggers the switch.

Generally the switch turns off the spin cycle if anyone opens the door.
Your machine may think the lid is open.
