My Kenmore Front Loading washing machine does not spin fast enough to drain all the water from the clothes. I thought the lines might have been clogged and I tried to unclog the hose. I don't know if there is even a clog. After I tried to unclog the hose it still won't spin fast enough. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Just a thought,, do you have the drain hose properly installed, such that air is allowed to enter the drain pipe at its opening.

The hose has been installed the same way for as long as I have been using the washing machine. The hose that comes from the washer goes into a pipe. There is a round disk that sort of caps the opening. I still think that the clog is maybe further into the machine. I would like to know how I could disconnect the hose from inside the machine so I could check it from the start of the hose. Is this a smart idea, or should I call someone to look at it? The washer is only about 2 years old. :wall:

If this is a Kenmore Elit series washer, there is a filter that needs to be cleaned periodically. Unplug the washer, remove the front kick panel (3 screws in bottom) and look for a cylindrical assembly with hoses attached to it and what looks like a screw off cover (it is) on the right side. Place a large towel under the area and slowly unscrew the cover. Take it all the way off and clean out the basket inside. That should take care of the problem. If it doesn't, place a service call.

I had to call a repair man to fix the washer. I thank you dougm for your help. I did try what you told me but I wasn't strong enough to pull out the hose to the pump. There was a nickel stuck in the pump. It worked for awhile, when the nickel was side ways, but the nickel went flat and blocked the pump. At least I didn't need a new pump. Thanks again.

IN the pump? That's not supposed to happen! Glad everything worked out. Remember where that filter is. It's necessary to clean it out from time to time. I've found all sorts of things in ours, including loose change (pay for my work :D ) With the washer being as smart as it is, you'd think it would just throw a code when it isn't able to drain correctly. :thinker:
