I bought a Ruud UAMC-048 and UBHK24-J11SFC. The air handler comes with an RCGJ-60A1 coil. The condenser is a 12 SEER, but the variable speed air handler and oversized coil brings this up to 13 SEER. Ruud's specification sheet shows this combination of the UAMC-048 and air handler/coil.
My plan is to call a contractor so that he can properly evacuate the R-22 refrigerant from my old system. I will then remove it, install the Ruud, and finally have the contractor return to braze, leak check, startup, and so on. Yes, I am capable.
Anyhow, here's the problem. I believe there is an oversight in the Ruud installation instructions. Specifically, the piston size table lists the maximum volume indoor coil for the condenser as -48A1 (which uses a piston size of 157). Apparently Ruud's specification sheet and installation instructions do not match. Am I missing something? Can't contact Ruud (or Rheem) because their WEB site lists only contractor phonre numbers. Any comments are appreciated. Thank you.

You put the piston in that came with the condensor.
