I had wrote in on 6/20/05 about a blocked coil and stated a few things about what a tech said I needed. Ed Imeduc reply not totally understanding what I mean and suggested a new tech. So I got a new tech. He noticed the condenser fan was rotating the wrong way. After checking with factory he was going to replace the motor. New motor turned the same way. I had stated earlier that the cap's in both the blower and condenser had blown. Both of which I had replaced. Due to my lack of knowledge I switch the wiring on the condenser cap, and through further observation new tech noticed wiring and switched to make motor rotate properly, but temp in supply line was still high (69 degree) with outside maybe 80 or less. Tech checked amp on blower wiring and notice heat strips were on. Notice white 1 wire was loose. Tightened and check amp when unit turn on again and heat strips were not pulling any amp. Air temp dropped to about 58 degrees. Seemed OK. I notice house meter still seemed to be pulling alot of KW each day, so checking the air temp again it was back up to 69 degrees. Not having a amp meter, I just figured heat strip must be kicking in again. So tonight I unplugged 2 black wiring that from the booklet that came with unit looked like it would cut off power to heat strips. Air temp in supply dropped to 58 degrees. Was wondering what would be causing the strips to kick in and if there is any problem with having unhooked those 2 wires. Unit seems to run OK. Maybe cutting on a little more often during first hour since I unhooked the 2 power wires to strips. Unit did cut off about 2 degree above the thero setting and does seem to go through the delay timer (wait light on) before coming on each time. What do you suggest? I can not keep paying for techs and hopefully the house meter will slow down now that the strip don't seem to be kicking in. Thanks in advance for your help. :wall:
