My daughter wants me to make her one of those shelves for her room made out of cinder blocks and wood. I guess you take 2-3 cinder blocks and lay a piece of wood over them, and then do that again and once more. Has anyone ever made one of these? Also, where can I get cinder blocks?

Hi Cinnamon Girl,

These shelves are very easy to make. The cinder blocks are typically available at any Home Depot, Lowes, or similar store. In our area, they are back by the garden area. The boards are just 1x12 or similar wood or shelf material.

You just place the cinderblocks reasonable distances apart, place the boards on top of the cinderblocks, then add more cinderblocks and boards. The boards and blocks are just laying on top of each other, so don't make it too high or it will be unstable. Hope this helps....Mike
