I just purchased on old Magnavox stereo turntable with radio and eight track player. The radio works, but the turntable doesn't. How can I troubleshoot this? I can't even tell if any power is getting to it. Thanks for any and all advice.

You have to open it up and use a multimeter to probe around for the motors power pins.

It could be as simple as having a broken drive belt.

Most turntables of that era were BSR or Garrard mechs, which were nearly identical, and used an idler between the motor shaft.

If you don't understand the system, take it to a small service shop that has been around for years, or a hobbyist into older stereos (such as myself)
