I recently bought a 25' 1978 Fibra inboard/outboard. The engine that was in it when I bought it was a Ford Mustang 5.0L 302, but that engine doesn't work. I've been looking online to buy a rebuilt long block, but have some concerns regarding how the engine is cooled. Since the boat will be used in the ocean, I'm worried that the salt water will corrode the inside of the engine when it is connected to the manifold and the fresh water cooling system. Is there anything I need to take into consideration before purchasing a new rebuilt car engine?
