Hi,
Due to the fact that I cannot get the desired colour of floor tile(red,gloss finnish).Is there a system i could use to change a tile colour /shade to give me the result I am after.If there is a system, what type of tile would give the best finnish ceramic or quarry?
Regards,Peter.

Peter,

Any glazed tile can be re-glazed and re-fired. You're talking mucho dinero, though.

Quarry tiles are not glazed. The color you see is the color of the clay after firing.

Talk to my old buddy Uri in Australia. Uri owns a specialty tile plant. He knows much more than I do about the subject. Tell him I sent you.

Had to edit. Uri's email would be: ausglaze@ausglaze.com.au

Hello Peter;
Silly Me !
I sent your wife an e-mail and told her of a place in Spokane Washington where you can get glazed Bright red Quarry tile, (yes it is actually glazed) The name of the company is Q.C.T. I don't know if they sell to the public but, my local Dal Tile service center can get them for me. I know DAL is an International company but, if you do not have one locally in the UK. There may be a way for us to get them to you anyway. (If you want the tile.) I would be willing to help if I can.(when I sent the email I had no Idea you were in the UK) Also I want you to know any Red glazed tile can be very costly, because its costly to make and fire without "crazing". I may be able to get you a sample or a sample board. Let me know. email me at tilesetter@hotmail.com and we may be able to help you out.
Regards and Good Luck,
Happy Holidays!!!!!!!!
