(my house has the flagstone mentioned earlier...)
I would like to add a concrete porch to the front of my house (http://www.liquidview.com/Home%20photos/house.jpg) currently there is a 4ft by 4ft landing when you step out the door. I would like to make it 8ft by 27 feet running the length of the house. As you can see there is a stone veneer that runs down to the ground. Do I disregard that veneer and pour the concrete porch as if it weren't there and then just fill in around the stone where the concrete meets the stone as to leave no gaps? Right now if water gets behind the veneer it looks like it can escape through the bottom of the veneer as the stone work terminates maybe a few inches before the soil. Will I have water problems if I cover this with cement?

Please help. And thanks, what a wonderful site.
