I have a relatively new (3-4 yrs old) Goodman AC unit. It was working fine up until about a week ago, and then it simply stopped. The fan never turns on, nothing.

I checked the circuit board and the power circuit for the A/C has not tripped (for good measure, i turned it off and then on again). I have a digital thermostat to control the heating/cooling and the temperature on it appears to be accurate. Any ideas what might be wrong? It seems like something is preventing the indoor 'stat from telling the a/c to turn on.

Does the main blower run? Does it run when you turn the fan switch at the t-stat to "ON"?

I had a girl friend like that once totally unresponsive. If you wish to DIY get a good multi meter and post back when ready.

Lenny has a point. The unit itself should still be under warranty at least for the parts. If not and you are ready with meter in hand we'll be more than happy to help you out.

Goodman condensing unit + GE dual run capacitor = Failed run capacitor. Run across this scenario too often I do.

i would first put in a new filter. then hose out the condenser outside the house with water with pretty good force then if that hasnt started the unit running after a little while check the fuses there by the condenser, but if you have to change fuses make sure you turn the power to the air conditioner off first. im not a professional ,but this sounds like pretty much the same problem i had about a month ago .so i guess its worth letting you know what i did and i did work.only i had to pay for having it done and you might not.good luck.
