well i read about the block out light blinds which i am going to try to find some in my area but the next problem is i like light on days i'm not asleep and i have a window on the 2nd floor with no access to it unless i find a long ladder but i would not want to have a ladder sitting next to my window to open it every day, i did read on the automatic curtain opener but i live in apartments and would not want to spend much money, i found online a stick to open the curtains but it was only 1 foot long so that might work if i found one longer, so any tips anyone? where i can have it dark on days i sleep and easy access to open curtains on the 2nd floor with easy reach, thanks again

A longer stick is the obvious solution. But cords would be easier in the long run. Just about any cords that come with blinds can be lengthened.
