Rewire old rotary telephone

I've got my families old bell system black rotary phone. The phone has sentimental value and I want to rewire it to fit in the standard modular ohone jack in my apartment. Can someone gimme a quick step by step?

if you want to use the orginal cords I would put a jack on the end hook the red wire to the red on the jack , Green to green on the jack , if theres a yellow you may need ot hook it to green to get the phone to ring .

then use a standard mod cord from the jack on the end of the phone cord to the wall jack .

if you dont mind putting a new cord on it radio shack should have modular cords with a plug on one end and spade terminals on the other.

just take the cover off the phone and wire red/red green /green.
