I have a problem with my AC and have never seen a setup like this before.
The system uses chilled water (chiller/heater is on the roof of the building) and uses a blower to pass air over the fins of a unit attached to the pipeline. The water temp is changed as the season demands.
The water line comes to a 4 point junction and there is a piece on the top that has its own power source and this is the problem. Picture below. It is making a constant clicking noise at about 100 beats per minute. it is a really loud click and I have to pull the breaker just to sleep (in the middle of a heatwave no less). The white piece of plastic in the centre of this piece pops up and down about 1/8 of an inch in time with the clicking. The AC still does the job quite well it is just the major of annoyance of the clicking.
I just had this unit serviced to clean the traps etc (I change the filter regularly) and the timing just seems too coincidental. Is there something that could have been affected that I could easily fix or is this a service call issue. There is a sticker that says "Climetec TC-8" but this was on the panel and I am not sure if this refers to the blower, water system etc.
Thanks for your help and let me know if more info would be useful and I will provide what I can.

I've seen that type of set up in many large buildings, but never seen the electric power valve.. Just the air driven ones.. I
Do you rent this condo or own? Does the building have a maint team that takes care of the chiller and boilers?? If so, I'd call them and have them look at this.
We'll see if the other guys here would know this control.

Thanks for the reply,
We own it and just found out this unit is my responsibility. The pipes and the chiller are the Corporation's responsibility and property manager just gave me a number for the guys that did the cleaning program last week. No help what-so-ever from those guys. typical.
The building is only 5 years old. is it usual for this type of thing to happen in so short a time span?

Looks like a plain old chilled water valve. Check the tag on it to see what voltage it is and verify incoming voltage if good on voltage replace the silly thing all it does is cut off water flow to your unit when the thermostat is satisfied simple solenoid operation normally closed and in bypass mode with no voltage to it. If you have low voltage to valve you will have to go back to the transformer/powers supply and see what is happening. When you call for service you maybe can save yourself a extra trip charge by giving them all the info off the vlave so they can toss one on the truck.

Someone told me that if you remove the controler and put two screws in to keep it lifted that the valve will stay open indefinately.
Will this actually be a wasteful thing since the pumps in the building are constantly running already and I won't actually be adding heat to the lines when my blower is off.
It makes the unit work and avoids a $200 replacement part but seems quite wasteful in this era of energy conservation.
Thanks for the input!

You can probably pick one up at Grainger for around $50 bucks.
