Ranch style strip windows

I would like some suggestions on what kind of window treatments I should use for bedroom windows that are 91 inches wide and 43 high. These windows start about 12 inches from the ceiling. There are frames that divide these windows 1/2. There are 2 sets of windows in each room and they start out about 24 inches from a corner. I am not sure I want to have window treatments just the length of the window as I think that will only make them look longer and shorter but then again I don't know how to make them look longer and still be able to enjoy the view and the light from the windows. We live in the country and enjoy being able to look out at any time.

yes, the short curtains will just exaggerate the windows' shortness & wideness. if you want to make them sort of disappear (less of a focal point), install shutters inside the window frame and paint the shutters and trimwork the same as the wall color. then, to further draw attention away from them, dress the bed with really great bedcoverings.

or you can hang full length draperies over them. when they're closed, they look like any other window, and when they're drawn, they still look great. even better if you have the bed positioned under the window.
