I have a PC1555MX system with a 5500 keypad. The trouble light is illuminated and I viewed the trouble. This is what it indicates:

Any help with how to fix or clear this trouble would be appreciated.

This can be any number of things, from an option board that doesn't have the tamper jumper bridged, to a keypad that has been removed from the system without the supervision being reset. We'll need a bit more information about the recent history to provide a meaningful answer.

I replaced the basic "Ranger American" keypad with a DSC Programmable keypad. That is when I discovered the issue.

DSC keypads are supervised. You will need to first assign the keypad to the same slot as the previous one (it probably already is if it was the only keypad).
Next you go into installer programming and enter section 902. This will register the new keypad into the system. Once you exit programming things should be back to normal.
