I had this dryer only for a few years.Somehow last week It just wouldn't start at all.I took it apart and everything seemed fine, the belt was in place, the heating element which I replace 3 weeks ago looked good, the power supply wasn't the problem either because I got a good shock by mistakenly touching the main switch, you know, the switch that you normally started the normal drying cycle.was it becuase the main switch(turn knob) is at fault? Please advice, thank you anyone.

Did you get a 120 volt shock ? Or was it a 240 volt shock ?
If your machine is a 240 volt machine and you got a 120 volt shock you may have one breaker tripped.
Reset both breakers twice.
Working on any electrical appliance energized can kill without notice.
