Anyone have suggestions as to how to remove a 'haze' of thinset from the top of porcelain tiles? I diligently sponged the tops of the tiles after setting, now I see a haze on top. I haven't tried elbow grease, since I was waiting for the tiles to set well. Is there a product to use, or should I just get on my knees and scrub? The tiles have been set for a few days. Thanks. If it's only a "haze" and not an actual build-up, it will probably come off during the grouting process. The silica in the grout acts like an abrasive cleanser. If all of it is not removed by grouting, you can use a tile cleaner after the grout has set a few days. If everything else fails, you can use sulfamic acid crystals to clean
all residue from the tiles after the grout has set.

Thanks John Bridge for the response. This is a great resource and you and your tiling colleagues are to be commended for providing such a usefull service. I admit that I bought Michael Byrne's book, but I will find a copy of yours as well. JPC
