Last night I noticed that the air was not as cold as usual. I checked the unit and noticed ice forming on the rubber tubing connected to the furnace. I shut the unit down to let the ice melt and found two tears in the black insolation around the tube. Can I replace this myself and how difficult is this going to be?
HELP!!!
The black foam has nothing to do with the line freezing on you..
The ice is a sign of low on charge, or poor/low air flow.
How's the air filter? Fan blowing good? Blower cage dirty?
Been good on keeping the filter changed?
Coil may need to be cleaned if it's dirty.. If all above checks out, then it's time to call a Pro in to check the system's charge..
