lately my ac somtimes after you cut it up to get it to cut off go it does so .but later when you cut it back to get to to come on it does nothing,thinking it was the therostat i replaced it with no problems but it still does it not all the time but somtimes,i found that you can get it to come on if you cut the switch on the furnise off then on.whats up, also some one told me to check the contacts where are they. thanks in advance

I suspect you have a weak relay in the furnace. If your furnace has a circuit board the relay is likely on it. If it is on the board, the whole board would have to be replaced.

I suspect you're trying to turn the A/C back on too soon after turning it off. Most newer systems have a timer built in to them to keep the compressor from cycling back on before there has been enough time for the pressure to equalize. Most are set at around 10 minutes. Turning the power to the furnace off and back on again probably resets the timer and over rides the protection. Next time the system doesn't come on immediately after you turn it on, leave it alone and see if it comes on by itself in a few minutes. If it doesn't, let us know.

it turned out to be a easy fix i called a ac co.tech he came out and found that switch on the furnise do not have good and tight connections . thanks again for the help.
