I have a Kenmore gas dryer. I starts up, spins but the air never gets hot (or even warm) inside the dryer. Is this a simple fix? The dryer is 5-6 years old.

I sort of remember a thremo coupler going bad on an old one.

check the thermal fuse on the back. If it is no good find out why it went bad. Start with the venting system.

I ended up calling a guy in to fix the dryer. It was a thermal sensor. I had the back panel off before I called him but I didn't know what the fuse looked like. I think it was a thin plastic thing about 1.5" long by about 3/8" wide, but I can't be sure. That thing measured resistance when I checked it with an ohm meter.

Anyway, the repair guy said I should clean out the dry vent which is what I did. Mostly at the end of the vent run where it exited the house.

Thanks for responding.
