repair upstairs porch

I own a two story duplex. My up stair porch floor is rotted. The floor of my porch is first roof shingles,underneath that is plywood,then last aluminum. I will like to know if I can redue my porch floor with treated plywood and leave out the aluminum.

Are you sure it is aluminum underneath? I would think that the alum is just flashing and doesn't cover the entire roof. :)

Thank you for the welcome.Its some type of metal that cover thru out the whole top porch and its underneath the shingles and plywood. The metal is also rusted out and the plywood is not treated. Looks real bad.

Aluminum doesn't rust but it can corrode. Since I can't look and see just what you have I'm going to guess that you can forgo the metal but make sure you use flashing where needed.
