the furniture that is leather and vinyl is called "leather matched", and the vinyl areas are only the areas that you don't touch, like the outside back and outside sides. usually, you can't even tell that it's not all leather, and the price is usually less than all leather.

if the dogs have nails that will be scratching the furniture, i'd do an inconspicuous nail scratch test on everything. you want a color and finish that won't show every little scratch. and make sure it's nice & thick to resist a possible puncture.

i think i'd be looking for attractive throws that you can cover the seats with and then throw in the wash every week. the dirt & oils from the dogs' coats will surely discolor any leather you get. then add in any scratches from their claws......

I just got a new Hancock and Moore sofa and loveseat. I was concerned about my big Bernese Mountain Dog and Little Wire Haired Terrier. I ordered some "soft claws" off of e-bay for them, but since we have leather, neither one of them has tried to get on the couch. go figure. Buy a FULL TOP GRAIn ANALIN DYED leather couch the best you can buy and I don't think the dogs will hurt it at all. Good luck.
