I have certainly been there before,
My kids have stuck just about anything you can think of in the vcr.
Here are some things to try or look at -
with the vcr are cover off, carefully but a tape in and watch it go down and see what it does,
Sometimes you can see what is happening and you can go from there,
What I ran into, is the kids or someone would not know what nice goodies were stuck inside, and the raising and lowering would get off adjustment.
Would not go down all the way and cause tapes to get eaten almost instantly.
I had come home from work to find a jelly sandwich stuck in it once.
I had to clean the heads with alcohol and a q-tip.
Thats were you could start at, there are so many pieces that can become out of wack, its a process of looking at it, inserting a tape you dont mind getting eaten a few times and go from there.
Wish I could give you a exact spot to look at.
