I Hope one or more of you Aquos expert won't mind a very basic question, so here goes...I have a DirecTV TiVo and DVD. The manual doesn't cover that config. I hooked my coax to the analog #1 in, as it was on my old set. It all works but I want to make sure I am getting all the great viewing available. No HD yet. Any of you kind folks wish to tell me if there is anything special I need to do that I haven't? Someone told me to connect seperate to composite in. That is not what the manual even hints at.
For standard DTV it looks pretty darn good. ANYTHING any of you would like to teach me will be greatly appreciated. I was hoping to find a pictorial for the DTV w/DVD hook up, but no can find. Any tweaks welcome. There are more things to tinker with than I will ever use.
Thank you

Don't hook up the DVD thru the Tivo. Hook the DVD to the TV (or an rf mod if the tv only has one input).
Do you have a second coax connected to the Tivo? Your sat should have an extra lead. Connect it to the Tivo to record two programs at the same time.
If your TV has composite (red, white, yellow) inputs, youy get a better picture and sound using them. If the TV has an s-video input, you get an even better picture.

Thanks for the reply, Bob. This TV has more connectors than I can count. I do have both inputs used on my TiVo. The current config is: "RF OUT" from DTV TiVo to VHS/DVD "IN FROM ANT". "VHF/UHF out to TV" goes to "IN" on a two-way splitter. "#1 OUT" of splitter goes to attic to kitchen TV. "#2 OUT" from splitter goes to "IN ANT #1" on TV.
As for the S-Video there is only one out of the TiVo and one in on the TV which says it's used for a video cam etc.
I did try the S-Video for kicks and it makes no discernible difference on this set like it did on my previous one.
Are you sorry you replied? Thanks.

mackaz,
You've got a 45" HDTV.
Upgrade (PAY) for a Direct HD Satellite receiver, or switch to Dish which has 15 HD satellite channels.
When you go HD, you'll use DVI or Component cables(red, green, blue), plus digital optical for audio ........

Thanks Fred.
I know what I have. Currently and since last post I have spoken to Sharp and others. I am now getting the best pic I can.
I am waiting until at least Oct. for HD from DTV. They are bringing out a new DVR. Not sure if it will be TiVo. Probably not. And there should be another price decrease for HD.
