I am trying to replace the Cap and Rotor on my 1994 4.3L Mercruiser, but the Rotor will on come off the shaft. Is there a secret to this? I have never replaced it on this engine before, but on my other Mercruiser engines, the Rotor just pulled off, like an old GM.

I have the ss version of that engine. Thunderbolt IV. I dont know if it is the same application. But there was only 4 screws and that was it.

Thanks for the reply. I got the cap off. I was having trouble getting the rotor off. When no one responded, I just got the biggest screwdriver that would fit under the openings in the rotor, and pried it off. I had to pry it all of the way to the end of the shaft. The new one went on easy. Go figure. Thanks anyway.
