Hello,

I'm looking to re-model a bathroom in my home. I would like to open up some addtional space in the bathroom, but in order to do this I would have to move the electrical furnace and return air unit, which sits in a closet that backs up to my bathroom.

I want to move the furnace and return air unit to the attic so the bathroom can be opened up with more space.

I'm trying to determine the feasibility and cost to do this? What is the difficulty in doing this? What is a ballpark cost to get someone to do this?

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks,

This sounds like a major undertaking. It could involve a good bit of sheet metal work as well as electrical. I suggest you get a contractor in to take a look & give you either a quote or estimate.

how old is the unit? nobody wants to relocate a 15 yr old unit. if its old you will need to replace it. as for price. expensive comes to mind.

Yes, I am going to speak with a contractor in reference to relocating the furnace and return air unit. There is no way I was going to attempt something like that myself.

I was just curious what a ballpark figure cost wise might be? To see if it is even practical?

Thanks,

Without being able to see the job, there is no way for anyone to give you that kind of information. Sorry.
