Hello,
I am in the market for a new heat pump for my home here in Texas. Can anyone suggest a premium brand to install? I was considering 3 brands Trane, Carrier, & Rheem.

I like any of those manufacturers but my personal preference is Trane. Keep in mind a heat pump has two ratings,SEER for AC and HSPF for heating. Based on your Texas location, I would insist upon a SEER of minimum 14 rated SEER and 9+ rated HSPF for the size specified. Make certain your dealer performs a Manual J heat/cool load calculation for correctly sizing HVAC equipment and provides you a written copy. I also would ask for a matching variable speed air handler. Either R-22 or R410a is acceptable-just don't pay more for the R-410a. Purchase only from authorized dealers.

My opinion.
Good Luck!
