View Full Version : Thermostat
Our AC unit is constantly running even though it is set fairly high. The thermostate is in the front of the house across from some windows that the sun comes thru during the day. Could our AC run constantly due to the sunlight coming thru the windows onto the thermostat? Need some advice.
First pull the thermostat off the wall and seal the opening where the wires come thru the wall it is pretty common for these not to get sealed and during hot weather the heat transferance from inside the wall cavity can cause the thermostat to think it is hotter than it is. Next buy a good thermometer and mount it right beside the thermostat so you can accuratley check temps in the area where the thermostat is mounted.
What do you suggest sealing it with?
