I have a new finish-it-yourself coffee table on which I'd like to have copper wrap the tabletop (top face and four edges).

I'm nervous about doing it myself, and would like it to have professional-looking edges where cuts may need to be made and joined.

Any recommendations for what kind of person/place I should call, or how I could best accomplish this?

I would try places that install laminate. That is actually what you are doing. Just that the "laminate" is copper. Some places are now offering copper countertops so I am sure you can find a place that will do your job. Another choice would be a sheet metal shop. They do eavestroughs and roofs in copper also. Good luck.
