We are installing tile in a bathroom that is now carpeted. What do we do to finish the edge of the carpet that meets our new ceramic tile?

ask a carpet guy to come out and tuck the carpet under where it meets the tile. this looks better than those metal transition strip that screw down.

I have exactly the same problem, but I was hoping someone would tell me how to do it. I know you need to nail down a tack strip and tuck the carpet, but I need a few details. How far back from the tile do I put the tack strip? Can I stretch the carpet onto the tack strip without a knee kicker? Thanks.

John,

Put the tack strip the same distance from the tile as it is from the walls - approximately 3/8". It would be far better to use a knee kicker if you can borrow or rent one.
