I have an older TV - Toshiba model CF27C50 that has hardly been used. It has an excellent picture but about 7 years ago the sound started to get muffled and eventually went completely out. I can get perfectly fine sound running it THROUGH a VCR, just not through the TV itself. A repair person told me that it could be an audio processor. Can someone help isolate it to the exact problem? I would like to try to change the part myslef.

It is likely the sound pc board is partially burned out, and is running thru like you mentioned the vcr.

You will have to replace the whole pc board, if they still sell it or make it

contact toshiba and find out, you will need part info, number so forth.

Toshiba has a great customer relations,

tips to try, request a 1 time conssession, they may help pay for 1/2 of the part if you request that and send in a copy of reciept if you still have a copy.

If the part not no longer available, they sometimes will do something more for you, if unit is olver than 5 years, this is not a option.

tv and so forth mfg are required to have the part available for 5 years from poroduct run.
